Vampirella Enters the Pathfinder Universe in Blade of Darkness
Dynamite Entertainment and Paizo are bringing Vampirella into the fantasy world of Pathfinder in a new four-issue crossover miniseries, Pathfinder/Vampirella: Blade of Darkness.
Written by Erik Burnham and illustrated by Federico Dallocchio, the series blends supernatural horror with the swords-and-sorcery setting of the popular tabletop role-playing game.
A Ritual Goes Wrong
The story takes place in Golarion, the world of Pathfinder. A vampire lord named Zaloch performs a ritual intended to summon a powerful being who can give vampires an advantage over their enemies.
Instead of the demon he expects, the ritual summons Vampirella.
Her arrival brings a new threat to an already dangerous situation. Monster hunters Kyra and Merisiel also become involved, setting up a conflict involving vampires, magic and the heroes of Golarion.
The crossover gives Vampirella a new fantasy setting while allowing Pathfinder characters to interact with a character from another comic-book universe.
A Meeting of Comics and Role-Playing Games
Dynamite Entertainment and Paizo have worked together on projects for nearly 15 years. This series continues that relationship by bringing a recognisable comic character into a world built around tabletop adventures.
Erik Burnham writes the series, with artwork by Federico Dallocchio. The first issue features covers by Steven Cummings, Andrew Huerta and Wayne Reynolds.
Pathfinder/Vampirella: Blade of Darkness #1 is scheduled for release on October 28, 2026. The first issue is 32 pages, carries a Teen+ rating and has a listed US cover price of $4.99.
