The Last Driver #1 Gets a Fourth Printing After Another Sell-Out

Image Comics is sending The Last Driver #1 back to print for a fourth time after the issue sold out at the distributor level on its reprint release day. The series is created by writer and artist Sean Gordon Murphy, known for Batman: White Knight, Tokyo Ghost and Punk Rock Jesus.

Announced on October 16, 2026, the additional printing will feature new cover artwork by Murphy inspired by the film Back to the Future.

A Cyberpunk Story About an Outlaw Driver

The Last Driver imagines an America where cities have introduced the GRID, a robotic transportation system designed to replace conventional cars. As the technology expands, private cars become illegal.

The story follows an outlaw known as Clutch, who must get behind the wheel again when his granddaughter’s life is at stake. What begins as a desperate rescue mission develops into a wider rebellion against technology, authoritarianism and a divided future.

The premise combines cyberpunk action with a conflict over freedom, surveillance and the control of everyday life.

Why the Reprints Matter

Repeated printings indicate that demand for the issue has continued beyond its initial release. The new cover also gives collectors another version of the comic to consider.

However, a distributor sell-out does not necessarily mean every copy has been sold directly to a reader. It shows that the available distributor stock has been exhausted and that additional copies are being prepared.

The fourth printing of The Last Driver #1 is scheduled to arrive at comic book shops on November 11, 2026. The second printing of issue #2 is scheduled for October 28.
