Image Comics has ordered a second printing of Ice Cream Man #1: Chocolate/Vanilla Twist Decoder Issue following a rapid sellout at the distributor level. The publisher announced the decision on October 22, 2026, as interest continued to build around the special edition.

Created by writer W. Maxwell Prince and artist Martín Morazzo, Ice Cream Man is known for its experimental storytelling and unsettling blend of horror, fantasy and psychological themes.

An Unusual Comic Book Edition

The special edition revisits the series’ original debut issue in black and white. Its standout feature is an interactive cover designed to reveal hidden images and messages through a decoder lens.

The second printing will offer a new version of the interactive cover concept. It will also include a new short story by the creative team and remastered lettering by Good Old Neon.

Rather than simply reprinting the original issue, the edition gives readers another way to experience the series’ distinctive approach to comic book storytelling.

When Will It Be Available?

The second printing of Ice Cream Man #1: Chocolate/Vanilla Twist is scheduled to arrive at comic book shops on December 2, 2026.

The announcement also looks ahead to Ice Cream Man #50, which is expected in 2027 as the series approaches its fiftieth issue.

The reprint highlights how experimental formats, collectible covers and exclusive material can help an established comic attract renewed attention from readers.

Image Comics is set to expand its creator-owned catalogue with The Territory, a new five-issue dystopian comic series written by Joe Pruett and illustrated by Philippe Xavier. The series is scheduled to debut on January 6, 2027.

Set sixteen years after the collapse of civilization, the story follows a man and a mysterious young girl as they navigate a dangerous world where survival is governed by strength. With humanity struggling to rebuild itself, their journey becomes a fight for survival, hope and redemption.

A Story Set in a Post-Apocalyptic World

According to Image Comics, The Territory combines action and adventure with themes of family, revenge and survival. The devastated landscape serves as the backdrop for a story about two characters whose paths become intertwined in a world where trust can be difficult to find.

The series aims to explore what remains of humanity after civilization falls apart, while keeping its focus on the dangers and choices faced by its central characters.
